Pricing European Multi-asset Options Using a Space-time Adaptive FD-method

چکیده
In this paper we present an adaptive technique to solve the multidimensional Black-Scholes equation. The number of grid-points required for a given tolerance of the local discretization errors is reduced substantially when compared to a standard equidistant grid. Using our adaptive methods in space and time we have control of the local discretization errors and can refine the grid where needed for accuracy reasons.

Application of Monte Carlo Simulation in the Assessment of European Call Options
In this paper, the pricing of a European call option on the underlying asset is performed by using a Monte Carlo method, one of the powerful simulation methods, where the price development of the asset is simulated and value of the claim is computed in terms of an expected value. The proposed approach, applied in Monte Carlo simulation, is based on the Black-Scholes equation which generally def...

G. Linde, M. Åberg. 2004: Pricing European Call Options Using a Pseudospectral Method. Written in English. Uppsala, Sweden. The aim of the project is to price European call options with a pseudospectral method (PS). An option is a financial asset that can be resembled to a lottery coupon. In a predefined time in the future the option is either worthless or worth more than it was bought for. Bla...
متن کاملTwo-Dimensional Fourier Cosine Series Expansion Method for Pricing Financial Options
The COS method for pricing European and Bermudan options with one underlying asset was developed in [F. Fang, C. W. Oosterlee, 2008] and [F. Fang, C. W. Oosterlee, 2009]. In this paper, we extend the method to higher dimensions, with a multi-dimensional asset price process. The algorithm can be applied to, for example, pricing two-color rainbow options, but also to pricing under the popular Hes...
متن کاملSpace-time adaptive finite difference method for European multi-asset options
The multi-dimensional Black-Scholes equation is solved numerically for a European call basket option using a priori–a posteriori error estimates. The equation is discretized by a finite difference method on a Cartesian grid. The grid is adjusted dynamically in space and time to satisfy a bound on the global error at the expiry date. The discretization errors in each time step are estimated and ...
متن کاملMonte Carlo Methods and Path-Generation techniques for Pricing Multi-asset Path-dependent Options
We consider the problem of pricing path-dependent options on a basket of underlying assets using simulations. As an example we develop our studies using Asian options. Asian options are derivative contracts in which the underlying variable is the average price of given assets sampled over a period of time. Due to this structure, Asian options display a lower volatility and are therefore cheaper...
